Will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and supporting new and existing application software and interfaces related to Broker and Dealer systems. In addition, will be responsible for analyzing, designing, developing and testing software components required to map and migrate data from surrounding applications. Will engage in all aspects of the software development life cycle: planning / analysis, design proposal, coding/implementation, testing/release/maintenance. Conduct operations analysis of project needs and requirements, evaluate resources and obstacles to determine feasible scope of project, and determine system capabilities and performance standards. Utilize specifications to plan out requirements of the coding project and use scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure potential outcomes and the consequences of the design. Perform complex coding tasks, develop and direct software system testing and validation procedures, participate in code testing and results analysis for local environment testing, User Acceptance Testing, and production environment testing. Will follow a cohesive set of professional and technical software development and performance standards that were created and established by management and senior personnel at Galatea. Engage in direct one-on-one and group communications with team members and personnel from the client/end user to communicate progress, address high level issues, and meet the expectations and needs of the client; must be able to collaborate effectively with clients to coordinate workflow processes and create acceptable solutions to issues that arise. Responsible for developing and building teams in order to maximize talent development, develop and utilize performance metrics for setting talent development goals and achieving results, and participate in ongoing technical/functional training as needed for project competency.


Master's Degree in a computer science or related field with knowledge of advanced technical skills in programming languages, advanced algorithms, distributed systems, and data mining and analysis.

Utilize leadership, communication, supervisory, and analytical skills sufficient to define, plan, and manage the requirements of a software development project. Will communicate with client stakeholders to define the requirements of the project, ascertain the targets to be achieved, manage the project budget, determine system capabilities and performance standards, and assess design options to identify project limitations, capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces. Provide leadership and project oversight for the design, development, and support of financial systems for large international financial institutions, as well as guide a project team by establishing the deliverables, create project schedules, monitor tasks and timelines, and supervise code and design reviews. Will ensure optimum performance of team members, including monitor performance goals and conduct performance reviews, and act upon other areas of day-to-day personnel management. Will use advanced technical skills and diversified knowledge to solve unusual and complex problems, as well as manage and overcome project risks by responding to design variations and delays and conferring with systems analysts, engineers, programmers and others to evaluate options for system fixes, improvements and enhancements. Will function as the essential communication link between the client analysts, designers, business personnel, development team members, and company management to discuss progress, track goals, and manage blockers. Provide strategic planning management by developing strategic plans and opportunities for company growth and provide strategic expertise to enable growth, higher efficiency, and reduction of costs for the company. Participate in the company's ongoing efforts to discover new and emerging technologies that can give Galatea and our clients a competitive advantage. Lead projects for proof of concept and other evaluation necessary to derive recommendations that are then considered for adoption throughout the company.


Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering or a related field, plus 5 years of relevant software development experience or Master's degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering or a related field plus 2 years of relevant software development experience.
