Culture
Galatea is a stimulating, collaborative, and fun place to work. To engender this culture, we hold weekly lunchtime knowledge sharing sessions and encourage individual knowledge sharing across teams and clients. Outside the office, we get together for intraoffice challenges, Galatea sports teams, trivia, dinner, and more.
Company ActivitiesGalatea fields a basketball team in the winter and a soccer team in the summer. We have cyclists with whom you can ride with across Iowa, a crack trivia team, and a semi-professional foosball player accepting all challenges. We also have annual summer and winter parties for Galateans and their families. |
Weekly LunchesEvery Thursday, the partners buy lunch and someone at the company gives a presentation on a business domain or technology topic. These sessions either review core business concepts, or introduce technologies in use on client projects. All associates give presentations, consistent with our culture of knowledge sharing and openness. |
Monthly OutingsOn the last Friday of each month (Final Friday), the partners take the company out to a local restaurant to socialize outside of the office and unwind. We celebrate the progress from the last month and invite spouses and significant others to join the fun. |
Company CompetitionsA healthy amount of company competition exists at Galatea. We've had bowling contests, mile run challenges, football games, foosball tournaments, push-up competitions, and more. We are always on the lookout for new competitions and ceaselessly lord past victories over our fellow coworkers. |
